Here it comes:

ORGY'S NEW SINGLE FROM THE UPCOMING ALBUM, "PUNK STATIK PARANOIA", WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR ORDER ONLINE TOMORROW!

Yes, of course, I've already got the clip, but I can't share it with you until tomorrow. :-P Hehe...I will post the link here tomorrow. Yay for a birthday present from the boys, hehe.

Speaking of birthdays, everyone should have gotten an email about this. Tomorrow night, the Cellar, 11pm-ish.

So me, Corrie, one of her friends, and Jermiah all went out to see Love Actually again. What a great movie. Totally buying it when it comes out.

Back from vacation, and ready to rock and roll with this show, and my last projects. This is it; this is the last big push and I'm virtually free.

Something's up with Steve. I dunno what. I guess I'll find out when he calls me back.

Oh, and there's a really cool article about Jay online. You can go to the D1 homepage; I just posted about it there.

Shut up. I don't wanna hear it...unless you have good things to say, lol.

This is what happens when I have loads of time that I'm not using to do my homework.

Well, I'm feeling a lot better. Jeremiah came over and then took me out to see "Love Actually" to cheer me up. Really, really fabulous movie. Good enough to see again. The acting was superb, especially Hugh Grant. Of course, there was Colin Firth and Alan Rickman, too, so plenty to drool over. Speaking of Alan Rickman, Jeremiah brought me my birthday present early, which is a poster of Snape from the Harry Potter movies. Yay! So now I have him staring over me at my desk. :-)

I also got an email back from Johnnie, since I didn't get a chance to see him last week. That was pretty cool. I wish I knew more people like him.

So here's the whole story.

On Thursday, Corrie was trying to make friends with Cream Puff, but it bit her. So she goes to the health center and they call the health department, and we're told that there's been an outbreak of rabies in some cats in another part of town, so that we either need to kill the cat now, or quarantine it for ten days.

Well, of course we're not gonna condemn a kitten, so we had ourselves a new pet. Cream Puff was a very well-behaved cat...it didn't even object to having a bath. We made a little home for it outside on the porch...so it had air and sunshine, but we made sure it stayed warm, too. We both would get up during the night and replace the hot water bottles for it. We got kitten food, a litter box, even a little kitten harness so that it couldn't meander over the balcony.

Cream Puff seemed to be pretty sick the first night we had it, but its health improved as the days wore on. Yesterday, it seemed to have an eye infection, but nothing serious. Unfortunately, we noticed yesterday afternoon that one of the other kittens from the same litter had died. So we call Animal Control, and wait. A few minutes later a couple, the Van Curens, show up and we assumed they were with AC. But come to find out, they're staff at VT, and they take care of the wild cats in the area. They feed them, take them to the vet, etc. We tell them of our predicament, and they tell us the name of their vet and offer to pay for Cream Puff's expenses since we were going to provide it with a good home. Me and Corrie couldn't believe our luck, so we made plans to take the little critter in this morning.

I just woke up, and Cream Puff is dead.

We've called the Health Department, and they should be over soon to get the cat to be tested. I've emailed the Van Curens to let them know; it might be prudent to take the last kitten in right away since there seems to be a real problem.

I'm really sad. I was getting used to having a kitty, and I was thinking last night of how nice it would be to have a cat lying around. Before I went to bed, I was looking through the cat book I have, thinking how beautiful Cream Puff was going to be...wondering if I could enter it in the Moggie section of a cat show.

My comfort is that we gave the kitten its best shot...and that its last few days were happy.

(The cool thing is that Jimi Haha made his own banners.)

So Steve definately will not be coming down for my birthday. :-( The trials of having a boyfriend who is across the country.

This week is gonna be a long one. I've taken a bit of a break this weekend, but starting tomorrow I need to get cracking on my show and my homework. The good news is, I got a 92 on my HODAT rough draft, and my J/AJ project is coming along really well. I need to do more work on my AIS paper though...haven't really touched it yet. Gotta study (aka learn) for my HODAT test, too. So yeah, I'm pretty much staying in town except for Thursday itself. Too much work, not enough time. But this semester is almost over. Finally.

Next semester is gonna be so much easier, and so much more fun.

Grr...Cathy, I just read your blog, and I am totally in support of you. You have every right to voice your opinions. You have every right to hold on to your standards. I'm sorry that you got shit for posting something that only a few people would understand in the first place.

Well, Dana, actually, that picture is pretty tasteless considering me and Corrie are desperately trying to keep our kitten alive... :-P My only comfort is, if the kitten dies, you're going to hell with us! Lol.

So yes, for all of you who haven't heard the news, me and Corrie are now the proud owners of a kitten (yes, again.). It's cute. It's name is Cream Puff Hufflepuff, the Puff. (aka Puffy McPuffalot.) It looks like a puffball with eyes...in case you thought maybe it was a shorthair.

Anyways, I'm getting ready to do changeover for me and Jeremiah's show. So if anyone out there in blog land wants to come help strike Hamlet / hang Convergence, feel free to show up at the Studio Theatre at 11pm tonight. We're all going to IHOP afterwards, if that's an incentive.

It's almost break, and I'm happy. I'm finding that it's not the work that's killing me, it's the mentality of the people around me. I hate stupid people.

Anyways, sitting in HODAT as usual. We have a test when we get back, so I better start learning this stuff. Maybe this time the test will actually reflect the study guide.

I should redye my hair tonight, too...I can't decide if I wanna keep it straight black for now, or to start streaking it with burgundy again.

Oh, and for all of you of age...my birthday party will be on the Monday night we get back, after tech (so like, 10pm or so...maybe later.). I'll be in the downstairs part of the Cellar. Be there and bring me a present! Lol, j/k.

Fun times in Lynchburg. It took me a freaking 45 minutes just to get from one side of Roanoke to the other, but aside from that, the trip went well. Liberty has a really great Library for those people needing to do research for religious-based topics (like me); they had an entire shelf dedicated to this obscure topic I'm researching! How cool is that? In any case, I'm heading back up there Friday to finish up what I couldn't read today.

Didn't get to see Johnnie, though I have a suspicion that his office was actually right next door to the library...it was all rather convenient...parking, visitor's information, the library, and what I'm taking to be his base all in the same building. Sign from God? Hmn...

Anyways...I've decided that the really cool thing about Xanga which Blogger does not have is the little "I'm currently listening to: (fill in the blank with a cd cover next to it)", so I've decided to make my own. Because I'm cool like that. The only unfortunate part is that I listen to a lot of music that hasn't been released on CD yet, so I had to make some little 'demo' and 'to be released' images. But yeah...going back to edit these in...

Unfortunately, the release date for Punk Statik Paranoia has been pushed back until February 24th. I am so ready for some new music; all of these pushed back dates are killing me...

Steve called last night...he is so cute. I miss him.

I'm going to Radford tonight to watch one of the dance professors at Radford rehearse her dance peices. Should be a lot of fun.

Almost done. Have to finish my HODAT paper tonight, but I'm not worried.

I'll be going to Lynchburg on Wednesday to do research for my project on replacement theology. It looks like they have a lot of stuff there, so I think I'll get a lot of good stuff out of it. In my search, I found out that Johnnie is now a campus minister there. I'm so happy for him. I might try getting in touch with him...who knows? :-)

Other than that, life calms down a bit, even though I will be working straight through break on my projects. Grr...only a few more weeks...only a few more weeks...

I meant to post this earlier this week, but WB has the new trailer for Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban up on the website. Hehe...yay for Alan Rickman in a dress! (Yes, that was my favorite scene in the book, and mad props to Hollywood for keeping it in.) www.azkaban.com
Apparently there's also gonna be a parody movie for Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings coming out soon...sounds fun. :-D

Oh, and check this out...me and Fluffy Starr have the same birthday! How cool is that?

Song of the Day: The Birthday Massacre - "Never Ending Story" (Yep, a cover from the movie...very cool...totally took me back.)

Crazy weather we're having! Granted, Blacksburg can get a little windy, but this is absurd. Almost makes me wish I didn't live on the top floor...it's a bit scary at times.

But it doesn't compare to what happened in LA...5 inches of rain and hail this morning...very weird. Especially when I hear about it after a huge debate in contemplating main dogmas of Christianity, lol. :-) I love that class. If all goes well, my website/project will be put up on the Religious Studies site.

So me and Nad won't have an mp3.com site since they're not accepting free accounts at this time, so I'm looking into other options on the side. For the hell of it. Whatever.

Actively avoiding my HODAT paper...but I need to get back to it as soon as I finish this.

In any case, I've been listening to some great music all day, so here's a list of stuff you should be waiting for:

Vanity Beach - Dance EP (December 2003)
Orgy - Punk Statik Paranoia (January 2004)
Jimmie's Chicken Shack - Re.Present (March 2004)
The Birthday Massacre - ??? (2004)

BTW, me and Nad may have an mp3.com site for our music...I'll post more later on how that goes...
So I'm picking up someone else's network now...we'll see how this goes.

In any case, I finally sat down and really listened to Fluffy Starr's new song (old song, really, new mix) and it's fabulous! Check it out:

I think one of the best simple pleasures of college is the five minutes me and Derek take every Tuesday and Thursday between Stage Lighting Studio and HODAT to head over to the coffee shop for some iced mocha and a raspberry scone. I totally feel like a pretentious intellectual whenever I walk in...nevermind that I'm half failing this class, lol.

In other news, my directing scene is supposed to be today, but apparently Bob got really sick yesterday and was taken to the hospital, so I may have been granted a bit more time. I guess we'll see.

What a wild and crazy weekend.

First of all, I did head down to Tennessee on Friday. It was really great. After the kind of week I had, crossing the state line was a glorious bit of freedom. The drive wasn't bad at all, and I made it to the mall in Johnson City without incident. I found Steve right away, and we had a wonderfull time at the mall and at dinner. He headed back to work, and I made it home by early evening. In actually, he did not quit or lose his job, even though there had been some issues. But he just called me a little while ago, and things seem to be better. He's going to Oklahoma now, and then will spend the rest of the year in California.
He's a really good guy. I'm glad I got to spend some time with him. Yay for decent relationships!
Once I got home, me, Heather, Corrie, Genna, and Kate headed over to the Lyric to watch "Lost in Translation". Pretty good movie.
Then on Saturday, me, Heather, and Kate drove up to Salem to go thrift store shopping. We had a lot of fun there, as the distribution center in Salem is HUGE. After we finished, we headed back to Kate's apartment and cooked some fabulous vegetarian lasagna. We watched the lunar eclipse, then sat back and watched Heather's "Frida" DVD. (Really, really, really good movie) We finished the night up with some mint ice cream, and I headed back home for 12 hours of sleep.
Sunday was fairly uneventful, except for my parents informing me that something happened with my account and my rent check bounced. So I have to drive over there today and take care of that. However, Steve is gonna be putting money in my account soon, so I should get this taken care of soon.
All in all, a fun and relieving weekend. I'm looking at my schedule and I really don't have too much left to do...there's the HODAT rough draft and test, but that's really about it. I'm doing really well on my Judaism/Anti-Judaism in the NT class project - I had a really good meeting with my professor this morning about that. I'm doing my project on the faith implications of replacement theology (supersessionism) in both Judaism and Christianity. Should be lots of fun...I'll be putting it up in website form later on.

I also have about half of the halloween pics online so far...I'll post the link later, but here's a glimpse of us Harry Potter fans:

Song of the Day: Foxy Brown - "I'll Be" (bought the CD at the thrift store for 2 dollars...rock on.)

Thursday, November 06, 2003

I got my halloween pictures back, and they're great! I'll be scanning them in today, and then posting later on. :-)

I'll be seeing Steve either today or tomorrow...he called early this morning, and something happened, so instead of going to see him, I'll be going to pick him up. I wish I knew what was up, but I guess it'll be nice to have him around for a little bit.

I like music...it makes me happy...

Song of the Day: Garbage - "I Think I'm Paranoid"

Tuesday, November 04, 2003

Ugh. I hate school. I want out of here.

This weekend will be good, though. I'm going to Tennessee to see Steve. It'll be fun. He's been calling a lot lately. Makes me feel a lot better, especially since things are going so badly here.

So is college really necessary? I get the feeling that, career-wise, that I've effectively wasted the last three years of my life. But I have grown, personally. I don't know. I just don't think right now that all of this shit is worth that little peice of paper I'm hoping to get at the end of next semester.

I hope I graduate. Don't really know. And honestly, today, I don't really care. My eyes are set on this summer already, as I'm already applying for summer stock.

Song of the Day: Korn - "Let's Get This Party Started"

Monday, November 03, 2003

This weekend was great...the Halloween party was sooooo much fun, and my costume was great. I should have pics soon...gonna drop off the film later on today.

In other news, I hate school, but that's not surprising. This semester is definately a lesson in not flunking out. *sigh*

Go read Ryan's blog...I wanna travel. Speaking of traveling, I'm looking to go to California this summer for summer stock. Anyone know anything good they wanna pass on? Specifically San Fran and LA.

In any case, off to run some errands. Fun times.
