I see myself on the edge of infinity.
Smiling, flying, wishing you were with me.
I go through the daily routine,
Wondering why I can't be free.

If you could take it back, would you?
If I needed you tomorrow, could you?
I sit back and look at my life unwind.
I'm running out of time.

You were so sure, sitting there,
Nodding, running your hand through your hair.
I think back to what might have been.
I see myself falling in the downward spin.

If you thought I needed something, should you?
If I'm running out of time, will you?
I try to hold it in, and watch it pass,
Thinking, "How much longer could this last?"

I'm running out of time; there's no looking back.
You put on your coat and pick up your hat.
I watch your back go through the door,
And I'm wanting so much more...

If you could turn back, would you?
If I tore it away, could you?
You're holding my love in your hands.
I shouldn't have been so careless.

Careless...
