Just got home from band practice a bit ago. Things were good and bad...guess how things go, right? We're making progress, getting things worked out. Got a lot of cool things coming up for the future with that. First of all, on Tuesday, we're gonna record a demo or two for the myspace profile. "Heh" definately, and perhaps also bits and peices from some of the covers we do so that we can maybe have a 'cover sampler' to put out so people can see what we're like. We're also gonna start working on getting to some open mic nights soon. So we're starting the intense task of figuring out how we're gonna do programming and such. Taking band photos this Tuesday, too, wheee! So look for some updates with that soon.

More shows coming up soon, in regards to other bands. Got an email from Heretics in the Lab today about their CD release party, which is gonna be in Charlottesville of all places...I was like, damn, that's the closest show to me ever. (Still two hours away - I hate being in Virginia.) It looks like the Baltimore show of the DSA tour got cancelled. (Apparently that venue sucks. They did this to 51 Peg, too.) BUT, there is now a date in North Carolina, and on Friday too, so that ends up being better. It's like an hour closer, and since that week may be blacked-out for work, I can actually GO to that show. I'm sad, though, because I've heard rumors that In Winter is playing the DSA show in Cleveland, and that perhaps Disown will be there too? If so, damn, I have to go! But it's on Monday. Argh.

In other news, if you've emailed me lately and gotten no response, it's quite possible that it didn't go through. I'm switching to make my RAM account my primary addy since it seems to be the most stable at the moment, so if you're using my LH, D1, or VT account, use the RAM instead. Or my work email, for that matter.

Let's see. Oh yeah, the show has been going great. We opened Friday and it was great. Afterwards, the cast invited me to go out to Macados with them, and that was a lot of fun. Ted has a great group of people, as always, in his show. We chilled out there for awhile, then a few of us went back to one of the guys' houses and played some pong. Apparently, I'm the queen of pong. I remember playing last, like, a year ago and sucking horribly, but I only lost maybe two games the other night in the course of three hours. I guess being a Hokie and all, even the worst VT players still rock in a community college town, eh? Hehehehe.

The guys' who house we were at was the boyfriend of one of the actresses, and during the course of being teamed up with him for pong, we talked about music and such, and he hooked me up with his band's demo. Really good stuff. Looks like we have at least one band to play with here in town now.

Then Saturday my boy came to see the show! That was really sweet and made me happy. I had my first review for work, too, and that went well. I like my new job a lot. It's hard, but it's what I want to do, so it's good. After all that, me and Jacob spent the rest of the weekend being cute and cuddling. This week I'm gonna hang out on his radio show Tuesday, and then he's gonna help me go shopping for some music stuff. I need some extra XLR cable and I'd like to get my own mic. I absolutely love the mic I found at work, but B says he needs it back (we're putting all our antique mics on display) so I gotta give it up. I'd like to test out one of the reproduction mics and see how those work. Should probably get my own 58 just to have it. Me and Derek have been talking about vocal processors and such...that's gonna have to happen eventually, too. I guess we'll see how that goes. Need...more...money...

Speaking of which, since I'm planning on moving out next month, I need a second job to help keep the income flowing. I'm thinking something small and fun. Don't need too many hours. Maybe working at the Roanoke TREX, or perhaps something else to suit my nocturnal hours. I wonder if I'd be any good at bartending? Maybe I can do something with one of the local venues sound and/or light-wise. Yeah...

Ok, I've rambled enough. Night.
