I just had this gut instinct that I should stay late to make sure the show kicked off alright tonight. So glad I did. Around 5:30 I started going through my preshow stuff: walking the audience for trash and broken seats, dimmer check, unlocking doors...finally got to the sound. And it was wrong. Very wrong.
Hardly anything was working. I started troubleshooting and eventually was able to trace everything down and had it all up and running again before the house opened. But I'm very troubled. I really sat down at the board and with our equipment and this wasn't mindless crap. It was specific. It was targeted. The only things that were messed with were things specifically related to our show. None of the unused pots were messed with...but the cd players had been taken out of the correct mixes...the speaker backstage had had its input level turned down. Even the headset main station had been totally messed. And all of these things are in very seperate areas of the theatre.
Whoever did this knew what they were doing. That really bothers me. I'm glad I'm getting out of here.
Gonna head to bed in a few; gotta be at the hotel at 7:30 tomorrow morning, but I'm hoping that tomorrow will be infinitly easier than last week, lol. Got a bunch more promo packs in the mail today too, and I'm expecting a few more. Yay for free music! Maybe if things are quiet tomorrow I can get a few reviews in.
I'd like to close by saying, I like my old man. *snuggles*
